Roberto Yamanaka is an accomplished bilingual (Spanish/English) attorney and business professional with a diverse background spanning corporate law, business law, criminal defense, and contracts management. Born in Mexico and raised in Austin, Texas after moving to the United States at the age of 10, he brings a bicultural perspective and a strong commitment to excellence and diversity in his work.

Mr. Yamanaka earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Spanish from Southwestern University in 2004, where he was recognized early for his leadership and academic promise as a recipient of the Hispanic Leaders Scholarship. During his undergraduate studies, he served as a Portfolio Manager in the Financial Analyst Honors Program from 2002 to 2004.

He went on to earn both his Juris Doctor and MBA from Michigan State University in 2010. While attending Michigan State University College of Law, he distinguished himself academically and professionally, receiving the Jurisprudence Achievement Award in both Pre-Trial I and Pre-Trial II. He was also a finalist in the Appellate Advocacy All-School Competition, served as Business Editor for the Journal of Trial Practice and Advocacy, and held leadership roles as President of the Hispanic Law Society from 2006 to 2008. In recognition of his dedication to inclusion, he received the Diversity Services Office Award for Commitment to Diversity in 2008.

Mr. Yamanaka began his professional career as a Senior Contracts Manager at AT&T in 2010, where he developed significant expertise in complex commercial agreements. He later served as Commercial Counsel for RSM, further expanding his experience in corporate and transactional law.

In 2015, he became a Founding Managing Member and Attorney at Law at Joyner and Joyner, where he played a key role in building and leading the firm. He is currently the Founding Attorney of Yamanaka Law PLLC, where he focuses his practice on business law and criminal defense, providing strategic, results-driven legal counsel to a diverse client base.
